The beginning of the beginning ?
Since my earliest years, I’ve been immersed in technologies of many kinds. Raised in Huntsville, Alabama of NASA fame, the epicenter of space travel, and in Edison, New Jersey, a stone’s throw from the legendary Bell Labs and the site of Thomas Edison’s most genius inventions, technology defined my life’s journey.
My family literally helped build NASA and Redstone Arsenal base in Huntsville prior to Werner von Braun’s arrival with his brother and scores of European rocket scientists scooped up at the end of World War Two. In the 1970’s my brother Julian and I went to the first incarnations of ‘Rocket Camp’, NASA’s groundbreaking experience for kids.
My proudest moments as a very young child were accompanying my father to his office at Bell Labs in Murray Hill, N.J., and taking home a three ring binder and other items emblazoned with the famed laboratory’s logo.
A child of modest intellect, growing up surrounded by the world’s greatest minds had a profound effect on me.
